think like the mountains

People don't really take time to really view and hear the mountains and what is all around you.
This article shows what it's like to be like the mountains. All the animals and everything that we don't really see in everyday life. We take don't really see what it's like to listen to nature. This article shows how to listen to animals like a mountain and hear the trees blow in the wind like a mountain.

When I read this I really thought hard about this. It is really true how we don't really take time to listen to what is around us; and if i listen I can be like a mountain and listen to everything around me and just embrasure it.

Exoneration

Back before DNA profiling was invented, many people were falsely convicted of crimes they didn't do, but since DNA profiling is now a thing, prisoners that were wrongfully convicted are now being set free thank to DNA profiling.

We have heard many stories of people being put into jail for something that they didn't do. These stories have helped me see how crazy this stuff is. One of the craziest stories was when 3 teenage boys were accused of killing and raping a white women. The police made them sign a confession form by force and then made up a crazy story to go with their confession. when they were in prison all the other inmates hated them. they would beat and stab them many times through out their years of prison. After i think 20 years the real murderers confess to the crime and the 3 boys were let free into the world. These now men had to learn how to drive, how to write checks, and learn how to get a job. This ruined their lives to go anywhere in life.
DNA profiling has become a crucial part in crimes now vital to investigations; and since this prisoners have been lining up to be exonerated and have overwhelmed the people who are doing it. What they do is they recessive the letter from the prisoner to be exonerated and then they find the case and see if there is any signs of DNA in the crime scene. After that they see if the DNA matches the prisoner and if it doesn't they try to find the real criminal.

This was a really fun thing to learn about and how these investigators do it. It is also very interesting hearing about the stories about what it was like to be wrongfully convicted and how it was being let out. I really like learning about this and all this is very interesting to me.

meal planner for chimps

There is a place in Tennessee that houses chimps and other monkeys. They have a lot of things to help care for the chimps. In order to keep have these things people donate what ever they want to the chimps. People donate things like toys that they can play with, food, and recipes for the chimps. We donated little paper things that had stuff on them for the chimps to play with. After that, we started making recipes for the chimps.

What I did was make the super duper food pile for the chimps. It had waffles, peanut butter, a banana, Greek yogurt, turkey bacon, apples and blueberries. with that I had to calculate the right amount of fat, protein, calories, and other stuff so that they were just right. then we made recipe that described how to make it.

This was a really fun experience and I learned a lot from it. It challenged me with math and stuff to make sure the food was perfect for the chimps.

Ted talk on cancer                                                                                                             By Max Ickes

Can we eat to starve cancer? Is there way to stop cancer before it gets to be a problem. There is a substance that is called antigenisis. This is found in natural foods like vegetables and fruits and can help fight cancer. This is a new study in cancer that helps stop cancer before it gets deadly. this is a great breakthrough in cancer science. This can bring down cancer patients and stop the high number of people with cancer. I thought this was very interesting and very cool to learn about. I didn't think eating certain foods would starve cancer. I thought cancer as only curable through extreme treatment. I feel like this has made an impact on me to eat more natural healthy foods so I don't get cancer. I think that everyone should know about this and action on doing it themselves.

Lucy Blog

People have always wondered if apes are as smart as us. For a long time no one knew and we started to think that it wasn't possible, but two scientists came up with an experiment to see how human can a chimp can get. what they did was to get a baby chimp and raise it as a human. after a short time, Lucy the chimp could sit at the table and eat like a human, she soon began to do sign language. After a ten years Lucy was to strong and to wild for the scientists. With that, they brought her to Africa were she was thought to be like a chimp. It was a big struggle but soon learned but got killed by poachers years after.
This was a interesting and touching story. It was amazing what a ape is capable of. What I thought that Lucy taught us was that they are smarter than we thought. They have emotions and the ability to speak. What she taught s about being human is that we are not the only ones that can learn like this. We can be very impacting on other living things around us. I have a totally different perspective on chimps after this story. They are so much smarter than I thought and they have so much more to them then I taught. I think the scientist Termerlin's experiment was worthwhile because he got to actually see if chimps are capable of. He got to see how a chimp learns and what is the effect of it. Lucy's end made me feel sad. After all she went through and what she did, it really sucked that her end came to that.

Ted talk on fish farms

With all of the fish we eat fish populations are decreasing rapidly and we don't even know it; but now with this issue at hand, fish companies are build fish farms all around the world, some be some of the bad, some good. Hear are the big fish farms that is in this ted talk on fish.
This is all happening right now and the problem is getting worse. One man saw this problem first hand and thought to look more into this fishy business, so he set off to see were our fish come from. Why, because when this man was in Spain, he had the best fish he had ever tasted. So he he set off to see all of these fish farms.
They and first fish farms he visited was industrial fish farms and no one like the fish because they were dirty and badly fed. Then he came upon a fish farm in Spain that had around 15 to 75 acres of wet lands were they can raise their fish. It was the biggest and nicest fish farm he had ever seen, the fish were in natural ponds and didn't have industrial food; they fed themselves with the algae and all of the stuff at the bottom of each pond. Plus the cool thing about this is that they let birds feed off of their fish! He asked "Why are you keeping these birds here?" The man said its natural way of feeding, fish eat algae and the birds eat 20% of our fish. So with this system; This man has managed to build the best fish farm in the world and feed 2,000 species of native birds. Finally the coolest thing about this farm is that it takes polluted water from the near by river and through the fishes life process; it cleans the water of all chemicals and stuff and then puts the water back into the river, there for cleaning the near river.
What I took out of this Ted talk is that we need to find better ways to get our fish and that there are already really good ways to farm fish, and to make the environment cleaner and healthier to all life.
